Education in the US
Education means learning and gaining knowledge, skills and habits which are transferred from the previous generation of people. Education in the US is one of the best, with a budget of $1.4 trillion! There are public schools and private schools that are more expensive, but provides better education. Literacy statistics are almost perfect, with a 99% of men and women. Public education is widely available, with a funding coming from the local, federal government and from the state. The education starts when children are between age 5 and 8 (it depends on a country), and it ends at the age of 16 or 18. It is divided into three separated levels: elementary school, middle high school and high school.
The elementary school curriculum depends on a state, but it must follow the terms of the AYP. This is the primary education, and here children should gain basic knowledge of basic subjects. They usually use only one classroom (it means they don’t change the classrooms for each subject). There are 3.6 million of children in each grade in the US. The secondary education means middle school and high school. In the middle school grades are 6th, 7th and 8th, and here children are gaining more knowledge of the subject they already had, and they have another, new, subjects. The high school education consists of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Those kids are called ‘’freshmen’’ and in this part of the education they are preparing for the college. The grading scale is made from grading letters. For A child must have between 97-100 percent, for B 83-86, for C 73-76, for D 63-66 and F is not passing grade (under 60%).
