Language School Ditches ISIS Name
An English language school and education group have been forced to ditch their name “ISIS” given that the name is now associated with extremism.
According to the spokesman, there have been facing numerous challenges when it comes to attending international language events under their name ISIS. In addition to that, the spokesman stated that some of their employees have received “negative comments” for wearing ISIS labeled shirts which were created by the company some years back.
Reports indicate that the group is looking at changing its name to Oxford International Education Group. The group obtained its name in 1991 from the part of River Thames which is at Oxford that is known as Isis.
Following the challenges that they have had even when it comes to recruiting new students, the group has opted to change its name.
The groups spokesman stated that they had earlier reached a decision that will see them wait until the ISIS incidence is over but they opted not to wait any more so as to avoid any embarrassing moments in the near futures.
“To have our staff in certain markets operating with Isis business cards, Isis group email addresses, Isis banners, was not an option. Thus, after 24 years as Isis the rather sad decision was made to re-brand,” the spokesman said.
Other organizations and groups which have been forced to change as a result of ISIS include a language school which is based in south London. The group was forced to change their signs given that they had some similarities with the extremist ISIS group in Syria and Iraq.
